The Queen of Hearts

 

Removed from the wall of a “cafe” in Huddersfield, whilst on display in 2013.

I liked painting this and it was embarrassing calling the owner to tell them that it had gone missing.

It’s a hand finished gouache & indian ink stained hahnemuhle rag print, and a one off. I named it the Queen of Hearts, a reference to ‘Alice in Wonderland’,  the Pub in the center is called the King’s Head.

‘Wind Dancers’

I used a highly reflective titanium based superbright white for the moon and stars, and aligned the painting so it could pick up on passing light.
